The Vaarniis bar stool was designed by Fredrik Paulsen. A refined and raw design that is typical of Paulsen's design style. The choice of material derives from Paulsen's love of pine; a material he describes as 'psychedelic' due to its vibrant natural grain. A material that comes into its own on large surfaces, says Paulsen – a theory that has been put into practice here. Despite its weight and massiveness, the chair is designed in a comfortable design with a tilted backrest and comfortable seat for long, leisurely dinners.

All Vaarnii products are locally produced by a small number of experienced Finnish producers. All pine wood is harvested from sustainably managed Finnish forests. Although their pine is the hardest softwood you can find, it will dent and scratch over time. They ask you to embrace these telltale signs of aging.
