Niels H. Peitersen is a Danish visual artist. In his artistic practice, he primarily works with painting and lithographic prints. Peitersen is a trained lithographic printer—a profession in which formal education is no longer available. As a result, artists from all over the country come to his print studio in the scenic region of Djursland, Saxum-Litho, to create lithographs. Peitersen’s colorful art is characterized by intuition and sensitivity, giving his work a playful expression. He draws inspiration from artists such as Asger Jorn and the CoBrA movement, not only in terms of artistic expression but also in their philosophy of liberating the creative process from rigid rules. Peitersen has always painted for himself, and as such, his work has not often been shown in exhibitions. Peitersen lives and works as an artist in Djursland.
